SPRAT Open Gym

Maintaining proficiency in Rope Access requires continual training. Rope Access, as an occupation within industry, has an established safety record that is unrivaled. When compared to other common methods of accessing work at height such as ladders, scaffolding or mobile platforms rope access is many times safer and often more efficient and cost effective. This safety record stems from the rigorous training standards established by SPRAT. At Life Rescue inc. we provide Open Gym training sessions for existing SPRAT technicians so that they can continue their practical training and, importantly, have this training time documented so that Technicians can progress through levels 2 and 3.

  • SPRAT certification is valid for 3 years from the successful evaluation date

  • Candidates can be assessed for Level 2 after at least 6 months as a Level 1 Technician and logging 500 hours of work/training on rope (using a two rope system under an authorized SPRAT program manager).

  • Level 3 candidates must similarly allow at least 6 months as a SPRAT Level 2 and log an additional 500 hours as a SPRAT Level 2
